Learning Outcomes

Familiarity with the principles of quantum computing. Understanding of simple quantum gates, circuits and algorithms for the implementation of quantum programs.

Note: Although Quantum Computing is in its infancy, it promises to shake and radically change our world. The Department includes the Quantum Computing Group, which contributed significantly to the creation (March 2021) of QGreece, the Greek hub in the global ecosystem of quantum technologies and QWorld software.

  • Basic quantum algorithms and their applications (Deutsch – Josza, Bernstein – Vazirani, Grover)

  • Quantum cryptography (Shor algorithm)
  • Quantum Computing Applications (Chemistry, Drug development, Smart Materials)
