Free Training Program by PwC on Modern .NET Application Development with AI and Azure

PwC Academy, in collaboration with the University of Thessaly, is organizing a comprehensive series of practical workshops for students of the Department of Digital Systems on modern .NET application development, utilizing AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and cloud infrastructures like Azure. The program is primarily aimed at final-year students, will begin on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and consists of five themed workshops.

Interested students are invited to submit their registration applications by November 19, 2025, at 13:00, via the form: https://forms.gle/aej4BDdr9hdvojdP7 (applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis).

Detailed program: (Note: physical attendance is required at all workshops, and participants must use their own personal laptops).

Workshop 1 (20/11, 15.00, 2-3 hours): Getting Started with .NET

  • Explore the .NET ecosystem (C#, Visual Studio, SDKs)
  • Learn Blazor fundamentals
  • Activate and use GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio
  • Hands-on setup: tools, repositories, and project scaffolding
  • Best practices for local development and troubleshooting

Workshops 2-4: Feature Development on a Real .NET Web App

  • Workshop 2 (27/11, 15.00, 2-3 hours): Plan and design a new feature, pair programming, Copilot-assisted coding, Git workflows, and live feedback from PwC mentors
  • Workshop 3 (04/12, 15.00, 2-3 hours): Backend integration, API development, security best practices, and advanced Copilot usage
  • Workshop 4 (11/12, 15.00, 2-3 hours): Testing, CI/CD pipelines, debugging, performance optimization, and deployment prep

Workshop 5 (18/12, 15.00, 2-3 hours): Modern WebOps on Azure & GenAI

  • DevOps principles and cloud-native deployment
  • Azure portal walkthrough and hosting
  • Automate builds and deployments with Azure DevOps
  • Use GenAI for monitoring, incident prediction, and automation
  • Best practices for secure, scalable deployments
