Emerging Technologies in Education (Erasmus+)
Quantum Computing – A Math-free Approach
EDU Europe, an educational organization in the form of a Social Cooperative Enterprise based in Larissa, Greece, organized an educational visit to the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Thessaly, within the framework of the European Erasmus+ program “Emerging Technologies in Education – Quantum Computing – A Math-free Approach”.
The program participants (educators from various Balkan countries) had the opportunity to learn about the Department of Digital Systems’ diverse work and educational and research activities, presented by the Department’s President, Professor Mr. Vasilis Gerogiannis. As part of the visit, the participants attended an interesting workshop on the topic “We all have secrets”, with the speaker being Professor of the Department of Digital Systems, Mr. Elias Savvas, which concerned quantum cryptography and the modern perspectives opened up by emerging quantum computing technologies in the field of education and data security.
Through these initiatives, EDU Europe aims to promote education in cutting-edge technologies by creating bridges between innovation, research, and education, and by strengthening young people’s connection to the world of science and technology.
