Networking International Conference on Emerging Trends in Expert Applications and Security
Larisa, Gaiopolis, 3–5 July 2026
The University of Thessaly, through its Department of Digital Systems, is organizing and hosting in Larisa, at the Gaiopolis campus, the international scientific conference 2nd Networking International Conference on Emerging Trends in Expert Applications and Security (NICE‑TEAS Europe 2026).
The conference is co‑organized by the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Thessaly, Apex University (Jaipur, India), the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (Gwalior, India), and Shree KKarni Universe College (Jaipur, India).
On the first day of the conference, Friday, July 3, the sessions will take place in person, from 10:00 to 17:30, in the amphitheater of the Nursing Department building. The following two days (Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5) the sessions will be conducted online.
The conference will open on Friday, July 3 at 10:00, with welcoming remarks by the Rector of the University of Thessaly, Professor Charalambos Billinis, and the President of Apex University, Ravi Juniwal. Greetings will then be delivered by the two Chairs of the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the conference: Professor Vasileios Gerogiannis of the Department of Digital Systems, University of Thessaly, and Professor Vijay Singh Rathore, Director of International Relations at Apex University.
Also, during the first day of the conference, the invited speakers and participants will be welcomed by the President of the University of Thessaly’s Department of Medicine, Professor Aristidis Zibis, and the President of the Department of Nursing, Professor Ioanna Papathanasiou.
Conference Themes
The thematic scope of NICE‑TEAS Europe 2026 covers modern areas of digital technology and its applications, such as intelligent systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, big data analytics and real‑time data processing, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, augmented and virtual reality, quantum computing, computer vision and image recognition, AI ethics, technological advances in biotechnology, medicine and agriculture, as well as multimedia applications in criminology, security, and intelligence services.
Scientific Contributions
Within the framework of the conference, 95 scientific papers will be presented, selected through a submission and anonymous review process (blind peer review) from a total of 720 submitted papers. The papers will be published in the conference proceedings by the international publishing house Springer, in two volumes of the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series, which is indexed in the Scopus database.
International Participation
The presenters and participants come from more than 30 countries, highlighting the international character of the event. Participation for members of the academic community and students of the University of Thessaly is free of charge.

NICE‑TEAS Europe 2026 demonstrates in practice the importance of international academic outreach for the University of Thessaly, creating significant opportunities for global scientific networking, knowledge exchange, and the development of new collaborations.
